How to Use the Gainers & Losers Tab

By WideRadar · Published June 13, 2026

The Gainers & Losers tab shows the top 25 biggest daily movers in both directions, each tagged with a Leadership Score so you can instantly see whether today's big move is from a market leader or a low-quality name.

Use it as a discovery tool

A gainer with a high Leadership Score in a leading sector is worth adding to your Charting watchlist for follow-up. A gainer with a low score in a weak sector is likely a one-day event.

Database join computation and the $3 + 100k filter

Movers are computed by joining today's OHLCV data against yesterday's in the database — the same data used for breadth computations, with the same filters applied. A stock must have previous close > $3 and average daily volume ≥ 100,000 shares to appear. This eliminates penny-stock noise and ensures only liquid, institutional-grade names are shown.

Leadership Score column

Daily scan routine

  1. Check the Breadth tab first — expanding breadth raises follow-through probability for every gainer.
  2. Filter gainers by Leadership Score ≥ 60. Ignore low-score movers.
  3. Cross-reference with Leaders — is the gainer in a top-ranked sector?
  4. Open the Charting tab for candidates that pass the above.

Frequently asked questions

How are daily gainers and losers computed?

Movers are computed by joining today's OHLCV data against yesterday's directly in the database — the same data and the same $3 + 100k filter used for breadth computations. This means the Gainers/Losers list is fully consistent with the breadth heatmap: there is no inconsistency between what you see in both places.

Why do stocks need a previous close above $3 and 100k average volume to appear?

The $3 floor and 100k average daily volume filter (over ~35 trading days) ensures the list contains only liquid, institutional-grade stocks. Without it, penny stocks with tiny floats can make 50%+ moves on a few thousand shares — those are not meaningful signals for most traders and would obscure genuine market leaders.

How should I use the Leadership Score on the Gainers/Losers tab?

A gainer with a Leadership Score above 70 in a leading sector is a high-quality signal worth adding to your Charting watchlist. A score below 40 suggests a laggard or speculative name having a single big day — these rarely follow through. Focus on high-score movers in top-ranked sectors for the best risk/reward.

How many stocks appear on the Gainers and Losers lists?

Each list shows the top 25 biggest movers in each direction for the current session — the 25 largest percentage gainers and 25 largest percentage decliners among stocks that pass the $3 + 100k quality filter.
